Havarti Cheese Meatballs with marinara

This week I cooked amazing meatballs with Havarti ​​cheese and marinara sauce that I would like to share with you. – Icelandic version HERE
This recipe are also suitable for those who are on a low Carb diet like myself and can be adjusted to your needs.

The recipe is really simple and everyone can cook this meal.

1 kg good ground beef

Havart  spice cheese (8 slices)
1 egg

salt

pepper

White pepper
Garlic powder or cloves garlic chopped a little

Dried basilica

Oregano dry
Fresh frozen parsley

Grated parmesan cheese

Begin to put the ground beef in a big bowl and season to taste with the spices i mention above.

After that, one egg is put out and it mixed well together with the beef (it makes the meatballs easier  to make and is also high in protein)
In the end I cut down 8 slices of Havarti cheese and gently mix into the meatballs mixture.

Then we started making the meatballs

Beautiful meatballs ready on the pan.

I fry the meatballs on high heat pan with olive oil before they get into a oven and finish cooking in the thereþ This gives them golden brown finish on the outside, yet they are still juicy inside.

When the meatballs have been put in the ovenproof dish, I take one of our homemade marinara sauces  and peel the pan together with one can of diced canned tomatoes and season with the same spices as we put in the balls. Then pour the sauce over the meatballs before theygo into the oven at 200 degrees celcius (400 fahrenheit)  for 25 minutes.

When the meatballs are ready, it is amazing to put grated mozzarella cheese over the dish along with parmesan cheese and blackpepper.
You can have all kinds of side dishes with this recipe like pasta, garlic bread or salad.
